Early Morning news
- The Rod Barajas signing is close to being official, varying reports on money and it seems to be around a 2 years/$5.25 million contract .
- In that same article, it says that the Jays are in a 5 team race for Kennedy and they are in talks with Meche, Lilly, Padilla and Mulder
- Of course, it also says "For the second winter in a row, Ricciardi has made the loudest noise among teams bidding on high-level free agents."...yeh except for the Cubs who have signed both Aramis Ramirez and Alfonso Soriano along with Mark Derosa
- Afternoon Update: Rotoworld has a wrapup of the AFL that includes Jays prospects (near the bottom).
- Danys Baez is joining the improving O's bullpen with a 3 year/$19 million deal. He didn't have the best season last year but his stats with Tampa Bay the year before make this news worthy.
- The Red Sox are actively looking to trade Manny, including a possible three way involving the Giants, and are close to signing JD Drew.
- The Dodgers are close to signing Randy Wolf to add to what would be a good rotation. This may start setting the bar for free agent starters and speed that process up
- Later on today, I will post an article examining the free agents signed up to this point and the money they are making. Hopefully it makes for an interesting read.
